A 21-gun salute at the La Guaira port , Venezuela marked the arrival of a Russian Navy’s fleet in Venezuela on Monday, carried out within the framework of a friendly visit, according to Global Post.
The fleet was headed by the lead ship of the Project 1164 Atlant class of guided missile cruisers in the Russian Navy, the missile cruiser “Moskva”.
Venezuelan Commander of Navy operations Jesus Ortega Hernandez said that this type of inter-operating and friendship-strengthening activity is advantageous to both countries.
La Guaira port welcomed more than 500 Russian Navy sailors.
