The U.S. Navy’s forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73) hosted a reception in Brisbane, Australia, July 30, after conducting a successful 2013 Talisman Saber (TS 13) exercise. The evening gala was also a celebration of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier’s first visit to Brisbane.
HMS Argyll has just completed a very successful 30 day period of exercises and local engagement in the Falkland Islands. Arriving in the South Atlantic on the 1st June she spent 30 days working to a high-tempo programme which included her playing a leading role in Exercise Cape Bayonet.
A Royal Navy warship has been working alongside one of the US Navy’s mighty aircraft carriers in the Gulf of Oman. The Type 45 destroyer HMS Dragon joined the USS Nimitz and her carrier battle group as they conducted maritime security operations and offered support to US forces involved in Operation Enduring Freedom.
