Ireland: LÉ NIAMH Assists Fishing Vessel in Distress

The LÉ NIAMH responded to a request for immediate assistance from the Irish registered Fishing Vessel ‘SAINT CLAIRE’ approximately 80 miles west of the Dingle Peninsula on the evening of July 31. The LÉ NIAMH responded to a request for immediate assistance from the Irish registered Fishing V essel ‘SAINT CLAIRE’ approximately 80 miles west of the Dingle Peninsula on the evening of July 31.

The Fishing Vessel had engineering problems and was unable to generate power. The LÉ NIAMH responded and was on site within an hour.

A team boarded the vessel to assess the situation, it was subsequently taken under tow and was brought to Castletownbere, West Cork.

All crew are safe and uninjured.
