Sri Lanka Conducts Health & Field Medical Clinics

As an another endeavor under the community development programme, the North Western Naval Command successfully conducted a school health clinic, a field medical clinic and a blood donation campaign under the patronage of the Commander North Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral NKD Nanayakkara.

The school health clinic and the field medical clinic were conducted at Arippu Roman Catholic Mixed School in Silawathurei on 05 th July 2013. Over 178 families and a large number of school children living in the area benefited from the programme. Primary family care level treatments were given to several communicable and non-communicable diseases by the Command Medical team at these clinics. M/S Sanmed Pharmaceutical, M/S Hemas Pharmaceutical (Ranbexy), SPC, M/S Interpharma (Pvt) Ltd., Glaxco Welcome (Pvt) Ltd., George Stuart Pharmaceutical (Pvt) Ltd. and Thriposha Lanka Ltd. sponsored the programme by providing the required medicine and nutrition supplements free of charge.

A large number of naval personnel voluntary donated their blood at the blood donation campaign organized at Karaba Jayanthi Vihara in Palaviya, Kalpitiya on 27 th June 2013.The blood donation campaign was conducted for the urgent replenishment of blood stocks at the Puttalam Base Hospital.
