Naval troops attached to SLNS Walagamba of the Eastern Naval Command while carrying out random checks on fishing boats prior to their proceeding to sea, arrested two persons with explosives hidden in a Fiber Glass Dinghy on 12 th July 2013.
A Gelignite stick weighing 200 grams, 5 non electric detonators and 9 safety fuses were taken into custody. The arrested persons along with the explosives were handed over to Kuchchaweli Police for further investigation.
