HMAS Waller Pays Short Visit to Garden Island, Australia

HMAS Waller made a short visit to Garden Island, Sydney recently.

It’s been a busy couple of months for the crew of the Collins Class submarine.  Waller recently completed work up activities in the West Australian Exercise Area (WAXA). This resulted in the crew and platform performing at their peak prior to their departure for a series of commitments over the next couple of months.

Prior to the short layover at Fleet Base East (FBE), the crew honed their skills and re-established their onboard routines as they transited and patrolled the Southern Oceans of Australia.

Those activities seem far behind them now as Waller departed Fleet Base East for her next commitment.

During their stay in Sydney, the crew displayed a high level of enthusiasm in anticipation of their next challenge.

Commander Submarine Force, Captain Mark Potter, said he was pleased with Waller’s achievements to date.

“It’s great to see the crew working so well and with a high level of enthusiasm. Their effort during their work up period is paying off, and it’s obvious they are looking forward to their forthcoming challenges,” he said.
