Sri Lanka Navy’s exhibition site at the “Deyata Kirula 2013” at Ampara won the high praise for being one of the well presented exhibition stalls at the mega event which ended on 30th March 2013.

It secured the 04th place out of more than 1,000 exhibition sites that vied for the honours. The award was presented by His Excellency, the President Mahinda Rajapaksa to Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage 0n 17th June 2013 at the President’s Secretariat office. Collective effort, commitment and dedication of the officers and sailors who worked tirelessly for the event were instrumental in achieving this success for the Navy.

The Navy made elaborate arrangements to take part in the Deyata Kirula Exhibition 2013, which was held in the city of Ampara under the theme of “Wonder of the Rising Sun.” The Navy exhibition stalls were full of exhibits showing its capabilities and achievements. Naval craft, navigational equipment and maritime weapon systems which were on display at the Navy’s stalls attracted crowds in large numbers. Sri Lanka Navy Fast Gun Boat, Udara and a Fast Attack Craft belonging to the Sri Lanka Navy’s formidable 04th Fast Attack Craft Flotilla were also among the attractions.
