Sri Lanka Navy Escorts Stranded Yacht to Safety

Patrol Craft, P 4442 and P 480, attached to the Eastern Naval Command of the Sri Lanka Navy rescued a stranded yacht 18 nautical miles off Trincomalee on June 9 2013.

The vessel named Dynasty I, which had been en-route to Galle Harbour from Singapore, had been in distress in the Eastern Seas due to adverse weather conditions. SLN vessels were dispatched for assistance in response to an SOS alert sent by the stranded vessel.

The yacht, registered at George Town and sailing under the flag of Cayman Island, was escorted to the Trincomalee Harbour with its 14-member crew by the SLN vessels.
