USS Dwight D. Eisenhower Receives Battenberg Cup

The aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) (IKE) received the Battenberg Cup in recognition of outstanding achievements over the course of 2012. The Battenberg Cup is awarded annually to the best all-around ship or submarine in the Atlantic Fleet on the accumulation of the crew’s success.


South Korea Launches 2.300-ton Frigate Incheon

South Korea on Friday launched a new 2,300-ton frigate that will play a central role in naval operations to deal with security threats including those from North Korea.


Israeli Navy Receives New Submarine INS Rahav

The Navy of Israel has received a new submarine, INS Rahav, in an official ceremony held yesterday in Kiel, Germany, according to defensenews.com. The Dolphin-Class submarine, INS Rahav, is Israel’s fifth submarine of the class.


USS Chosin Ready to Deploy

Sailors aboard the Hawaii-based Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Chosin (CG 65) will depart Pearl Harbor April 30 for a scheduled Western Pacific deployment.
