Haval Shipyard Gdynia SA Hosts Visit from German Company MTU Friedrichshafen

On April 16th 2013, the Naval Shipyard Gdynia SA hosted a visit from the German company MTU Friedrichshafen GmbH., a worldwide producer of internal combustion engines for the marine, railway and agriculture industry.

The MTU representatives presented technical data of antimagnetic engines that can be applied in the future at Gdynia Shipyard as well as modern automatic control engineering system, which was designed and implemented by the MTU Centre for marine automatics. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Armament Inspectorate of MoD, the Inspectorate of the Armed Forces Support, the delegation from the Command of the 3rd Flotilla of the Polish Navy, the Naval Academy, 4th Regional Military Representative Office (Quality Assurance Representative) and employees of the Naval Shipyard Gdynia S.A.

The meeting was organized by the NSG’s Purchase Department in cooperation with Sales Office RUDA Trading International from Katowice, which is the official distributor of spare parts for MTU internal combustion engines in Poland.

MTU Friedrichshafen GmbH is a provider of main engines and generating sets, such as the one installed on patrol craft ORP “Ślązak” that is built by Gdynia for the Polish Navy.

In earlier years the NSG S.A. installed MTU engines on five patrol crafts type NS 935, built for Indonesia and two salvage boats type SAR3000 that were built for the Maritime Search and Rescue Service.
