Thailand: KDB DARUSSALAM Arrives at Port of Phuket

KDB DARUSSALAM arrived at Port of Phuket, in Phuket Island, Thailand for a four-day goodwill visit to the country.

This visit was a continuation of the Royal Brunei Navy’s effort in strengthening and expanding diplomatic naval understanding and camaraderie. In conjunction with this visit, a Courtesy Call was made to the Chief of Staff of Third Area Naval Command (NAC3) and receiving KDB DARUSSALAM’s Commanding Officer was the Deputy Chief of Staff of NAC3, Capt Nantapol Malarat and senior officers of NAC3.

At the meeting, the Commanding Officer of KDB DARUSSALAM, Lt Col (L) Muhd Hadi Syarifudin bin Hj Muhd Hassanal Mega, thanked the Royal Thai Navy NAC3 for receiving the ship’s men and crew for the goodwill visit. The Deputy Chief of Staff then shared his fond memory of Brunei 25 years ago while visiting Brunei as a navy cadet and looks forward to visiting Brunei.

Also in the itinerary is a dinner reception that will be hosted by the NAC3 held at the Radisson Blu Plaza Resort, Phuket. KDB DARUSSALAM will be leaving Phuket, Thailand on Friday, 12 April 2013 thus ending the series of deployments made by the ship.
