Royal Malaysian Naval Ship Arrives at Port of Colombo

Royal Malaysian Naval Ship “KD Terengganu” arrived at the Port of Colombo for an operational halt and refueling on 14th March 2013. The ship, which is on her way home from Karachchi, was welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with Naval traditions on arrival.

Ship’s Commanding Officer, Commander Shaiful bin Mayudin called on Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Rohan Amarasinghe at the Western Naval Command Headquarters in Colombo. They held cordial discussions and exchanged mementos as a gesture of goodwill.

KD Terengganu is a New Generation Patrol Vessel belonging to the Royal Malaysian Navy. It is 91.1 meters in length and has a displacement of 1,650 tons. The ship has a complement of 18 officers and 77 sailors onboard. She will stay in Sri Lanka until 18th March and the ship’s crew will participate in a special programme organized by the Sri Lanka Navy to enhance the mutual relations during their stay in Sri Lanka.
