Three Crew Members of US Navy EA-6B Prowler Jet Die in Aircraft Crash (UPDATE)

All three crew members aboard a Navy EA-6B Prowler jet assigned to Electronic Attack Squadron 129 (VAQ-129) at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Wash., were killed when the aircraft crashed Monday morning in an unpopulated area approximately 50 miles west of Spokane, Wash.


New Brazilian Navy Ship Departs UK

The latest addition to the Brazilian Navy’s fleet departed the UK in the snow yesterday for her new home in Rio de Janeiro where she will strengthen Brazil’s maritime security. APA is the second of three Amazonas Class Ocean Patrol Vessels being delivered to the Brazilian Navy by BAE Systems.

The old US warship Battleship Texas will get its first significant repairs in more than 20 years, according to ABC. A $17.5 million contract intended for the warship’s overhaul has been awarded to Taylor Marine Construction. In 1948, the Battleship TEXAS became the first battleship memorial museum in the United States.


Four US Navy Ships Visit Republic of Korea

Four U.S. Navy forward-deployed Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers and their crews arrived in Donghae and Pyeongtaek to support exercise Foal Eagle 2013. USS Lassen (DDG 82) and USS Fitzgerald (DDG 62) pulled into Donghae and USS John S. McCain (DDG 56) and USS McCampbell (DDG 85) stopped in Pyeongtaek.
