Sri Lanka Navy Commander Visits Southern Naval Area

Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage visited the Southern Naval Area on 25th January 2013. On arrival, he was received by Commander Southern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe.

He addressed the ship’s company at the SLNS Nipuna auditorium. Thereafter, the Navy Commander viewed the Leadership Training in progress at the base and addressed the university students participating in the programme under Naval supervision.

During the visit, Commander of the Navy also inspected SLNS Samudura as well as other ships and craft under the Southern Naval Command. He proceeded to review the progress of the SLN’s Weligam Bay Resort’s construction and paid an inspection visit to SLNS Ruhuna and CG Rohana.
