Sri Lanka Navy Provides Relief Assistance to Trapped Civilians

Naval troops attached to Naval Deployment Pulmudai of the Eastern Naval Command have rushed to assist the villagers affected by the overflow of Padaviya Wewa.

A Naval craft along with SLN Relief Assistance personnel has been deployed since the early hours of Saturday (05^th January 2013) to ferry the villagers of Pubudugama and Kambiliwewa who are trapped in the surging waters. The suspension bridge that links the two villages has gone under water causing disruption to public transportation in the area.
