Sri Lanka Navy assisted in the repatriation of 40 Indian fishermen along with 5 fishing boats on 12 th December 2012. The fishermen with their fishing trawlers were handed over to the Indian Coast Guard Ship “Chandra Devi” at the International Maritime Boundary Line off Northern seas by SLNS Udara attached to the Northern Naval Command.

Repatriation of Indian fishermen and their boats comes as a direct result of the collaborative efforts made by the Sri Lanka Navy and the Indian officials.
