German Ambassador to Sri Lanka, His Excellency Dr. Jueroen Morhard and Mrs. Petra Morhard visited the SLN Dockyard in Trincomalee on 16th November 2012.
The German Ambassador paid a courtesy call on Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne and he briefed him on the history of the Trincomalee harbour, its political, economic and security importance.
The Ambassador and his wife were provided with a harbour cruise as well as an opportunity to visit the Naval Museum during their visit. They were also hosted for lunch at the Navy House by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage .
