In the coming weekend, a number of French naval ships, namely the Léopard, the Lynx, the Tigre, the Guépard and the Panthère, will be moored in Amsterdam.

The five training and instruction ships are open to the public between 9 and 11 a.m. and 2 and 5 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.

The visit to the port of Amsterdam marks the end of the first part of the training course for second-year officers at the École Navale, which is comparable to the Royal Naval College in Den Helder.

The naval officers of the future left Brest, France, on 21 May and sailed to Copenhagen via the northern tip of Denmark. They subsequently set course for Amsterdam, where the officers will remain on board for 15 days. In addition to being part of the officers’ training course, the visit also underlines the French presence in international waters.
