ASW Ship Admiral Tribut’s Mariners Attend Seychelles Carnival, Hold Antipiracy Drills

 

Visit of Pacific Fleet (PF) large ASW ship Admiral Tributs to Seychelles coincided with traditional carnival. On March 2, Russian mariners took part in the carnival opening ceremony and pageants lasted till March 4.

Participating in the festivities, PF servicemen demonstrated marching skills, and marines showed hand-to-hand combat drawing applause of numerous locals.

PF official delegation had a boat tour and an excursion to the Sainte Anne Island.

Throughout the visit, mariners hosted diplomats from the Russian embassy, their families, representatives of Russian diaspora, and numerous locals on board the ship.

Recall that large ASW ship Admiral Tributs headed by Capt 1 rank Ildar Akhmerov called at the port of Victoria (Seychelles) on March 1.

Russian delegation paid courtesy call to Chief of Seychelles People’s Defense Forces Brigadier General L. Payet and visited a coast guard base.

Commanding staff of the Russian task unit was hosted by the President of Seychelles James A. Michel.

In the morning of March 5, crew of large ASW ship Admiral Tributs and PF marine unit held an anti-piracy drill which was arranged for Seychelles naval officers within experience interchange program.

Russian mariners will leave hospitable Seychelles in the evening of March 5 and lay a course for the patrol area.
