Russian Prime Minister Offers to Create System Controlling Defense Order Execution

It is necessary to establish a special system controlling execution of state defense order, said Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.

“We should thoroughly analyze material and technical base of defense industry and clarify who controls every element of it”, Putin said at the round table on national security issues and industry development, answering a question whether a part of state defense industrial system “has been lost”, reports ITAR-TASS.

According to Putin, he hopes that vice premier Dmitry Rogozin would work closely on that matter. “A pretty big “pie” is being currently “baked” in defense ministry’s “kitchen”. This is the huge pie, but it has no unnecessary ingredients“, Putin said.

He pointed out that “we need to create a special system controlling the course of all defense contracts”.

As for the premier, today defense ministry and other authorities do have appropriate agencies. “But it goes on discretely. We need to understand clearly how every single contract is performed, I mean, deadlines, prices, and responsible persons”, said Putin.

He noted that such system should timely react on any slightest frustration of a contract terms. “Even a minor rescheduling must cause a reaction”, he said.

Meanwhile, there is no need to apply immediate administrative procedures, Putin added. “Perhaps, it’d better to assist first”, he noted.
