Sri Lanka Navy Arrests 5 Persons Engaged in Illegal Fishing

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Vijaya of the North-western Naval Command arrested 05 persons engaged in illegal fishing at Dutch Bay in Kalpitiya on 26th January 2012. Night diving equipment used for the illegal act were also taken into naval custody during the arrest made at 07.30 pm.

The arrested persons along with the items recovered from their possession were handed over to Assistant Fisheries Director (Puttlam) for legal action.
