Italian naval divers have set off explosives inside the hull of a cruise liner to create four small openings in the hull of the cruise ship to speed searching for 29 missing passengers and crew.

The holes have been made both above and below the water level.

Navy Spokesman told rescuers were racing against time. The tragedy has turned into potential environmental crisis.  The fuel inside the ship might leak into pristine waters, Theaustralian reports.
