The USS Samuel B. Roberts warship based at Mayport Naval Station in Jacksonville will reach the home port on Wednesday.
According to the Navy, the Roberts was deployed in the Mediterranean and Red seas, the Horne of Africa and Indian Ocean for six months. It was included in a number of joint military exercises with African navies and conducted anti-piracy operations.
The warship will be withdrawn from active service in 2015, reports the Florida Times Union.
