The trawler had left for fishing from Ambalangoda and found itself stranded at sea for 72 days due to an engine failure. The vessel had been drifting towards land by the time it was detected by another Sri Lankan trawler, “Yasa Isuru 10”, approximately 47 nautical miles from Kankesanthurai. The five-member crew was found to be in healthy condition and they extended their gratitude to the Sri Lanka Navy for the timely assistance rendered.
