USA: EnerSys Energy Products Wins USD 11.1 Million Submarine Batteries Contract

EnerSys Energy Products, Inc., Warrensburg, Mo., is being awarded an $11,114,000 modification to previously awarded contract (N00164-10-D-GS60) for the production of submarine valve regulated lead acid batteries. EnerSys Energy Products, Inc., Warrensburg, Mo., is being awarded an $11,114,000 modification to previously awarded contract (N00164-10-D-GS60) for the production of submarine valve regulated lead acid batteries.

This effort will procure replacement back-up batteries for in-service nuclear submarines.

Work will be performed in Warrensburg, Mo., and is expected to be completed by July 2012. Contract funds in the amount of $7,384,750 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane, Ind., is the contracting activity.
