U.S. Navy’s Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Porter departed Rota, Spain on November 30 to begin its regularly scheduled deployment.

Porter’s operations will provide the ship and crew an opportunity to strengthen and build naval capabilities with allies and partners in the region and in support of operation Atlantic Resolve.

“It is an amazing feeling to be on patrol again in freedom’s champion. We have trained hard this year and we look forward to operating across all our mission sets as we continue to strengthen relationships with our allies and partners,” USS Porter Cmdr. Andria Slough said.

USS Porter is forward-deployed to Rota, Spain, and is conducting naval operations in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations.
