Royal Australian Navy Commodore Jaimie Hatcher AM, Commander of Combined Task Force 150, thanked the Commanding Officer of the Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Tippu Sultan for their contribution to Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) whilst the ship was alongside in Bahrain.

The visit took place before the ship sailed to the North Arabian Sea for the last time in support of Combined Task Force 150 (CTF 150).

The CTF 150 Commander was hosted on board PNS Tippu Sultan by the Commanding Officer, Captain Shafquat H Akhtar.

Commodore Hatcher said: “The insight to the region that comes from working with the Pakistan Navy, her ships, individuals in CMF and particularly when they command CTFs are invaluable.”

PNS Tippu Sultan’s deployment with CMF started on November 19, 2015 and finished on January 3, 2016. During this period the ship conducted maritime security patrols in the international waters off the Horn of Africa and Makran Coast.
