Combined Task Force 151 Flagship Visits Kenya

Turkish Navy ship TCG Gemlik, commanded by Rear Admiral Ayhan Bay, Commander Combined Task Force (CCTF) 151 recently visited Mombasa, Kenya.

The flagship TCG Gemlik (F-492) was received at the port by Mombasa Governor Ali Joho, Senator Hassan Omar and the Turkish Ambassador to Kenya Ms Deniz Eke, along with coast region legislators.

During the port visit to Mombasa, Rear Admiral Bay called on the Chief of the Kenyan Navy, Major General Levi Franklin Mghalu and the Director General of the Kenya Maritime Authority Mr Cosmas Cherop.

He also took time to visit the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre. Twelve Kenyan Navy Personnel also took the opportunity to visit TCG Gemlik (F-492), where they received a ship tour and a presentation on counter-piracy.

The Turkish-led CTF 151 will continue to conduct counter-piracy patrols in the area of operation under the command of the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF), which is a multinational naval partnership of 30 nations.
