Philippine Navy, Air Force Conduct Joint Exercise

The Philippine Navy and the Philippine Air Force have commenced a joint exercise on Monday, September 07.

The exercise was launched in an Opening Ceremony held at Suarez Hall, Fleet Support Force, Naval Base Heracleo Alano, Sangley Point, Cavite City.

Codenamed DAGIT 2015, the PN-PAF Interoperability Exercise (IOX), is taking place in the areas of Naval Base Heracleo Alano, Sangley Point, Cavite City, Marine Barracks Gregorio Lim (MBGL), Ternate Cavite and in the vicinity of Manila Bay and Caballo Island.

DAGIT 2015 is being carried out in three phases: Preparation Phase (Sep. 7-11, 2015); Exercise Phase (Sep. 14-17, 2015); and Termination Phase (Sep. 18, 2015). This will include subject matter expertise exchanges, classroom instructions, table top exercises, and joint training exercises.

The Philippine Navy is participating in the exercise with an Islander, one AW109E, BRP Gregorio del Pilar (PF16), boat teams and SEAL teams of the Naval Special Operations Group, Sniper team of the Marines Special Operations Group, one communications van, and one medical team.

DAGIT 2015 will focus on joint interoperability operations to enhance maritime, air to ground and special operations capability which will enhance further the ability of the PN and PAF in safeguarding Philippine territories.
