Sri Lanka Navy Helps Return Indian Fishing Trawlers

The Sri Lanka Navy facilitated the handing over of 14 Indian fishing trawlers, which had been released by the court, to Indian Coast Guard Ship ‘ANAGH’ at the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) north of Delft on April 30.

Seventy-five Indian personnel including repair teams had arrived in Sri Lanka onboard 14 trawlers on April 28 to salvage these released trawlers.

The Sri Lanka Navy and the Sri Lanka Coast Guard craft accompanied the Indian trawlers whilst on their passage in Sri Lankan waters to ensure their safety on completion of the salvage operation.
