USS George H.W. Bush Carries Out Ordnance Offload

US Navy’s USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77) conducted an ordnance offload with the Military Sealift Command dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS William McLean (T-AKE 12) April 24-25 in preparation for a planned incremental availability (PIA).

As ammunition cannot be taken to the yards, it was offloaded to USNS William McLean while in the Atlantic Ocean.

The turnover was conducted by Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 9, “Tridents”, George H.W. Bush’s embarked helicopter squadron.

George H.W. Bush is currently underway conducting training exercises and an ammunition offload in the Atlantic Ocean.
