Status of the Fleet

The US Naval Forces Europe-Africa/US 6th Fleet released a gallery highlighting daily operations in their most recent Status of the Fleet.

Sailors, operating forward in the U.S. 6th Fleet, conducted daily operations, port visits and engaged with allies and partners to maintain a forward presence throughout Europe and Africa and improve maritime security.

The above image shows Aviation Structural Mechanic 3rd Class Larry Hubbard, assigned to the Ghostriders of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC 28), Detachment 1, assisting an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter aboard the 6th fleet command and control ship USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20). The vessel is conducting naval operations with allies and partners in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations in order to advance security and stability in Europe.

The aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77) conducted a vertical replenishment-at-sea in the Mediterranean Sea, Oct. 28. Bush, homeported in Norfolk, Virginia is conducting naval operations in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations in support of the U.S. national security interests in Europe.

The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Ross (DDG 71) conducted a replenishment-at-sea with Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS Leroy Grumman (T-AO 195) in the Mediterranean Sea, Oct. 28. Ross, homeported in Rota, Spain, is conducting naval operations in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations in support of the U.S. national security interests in Europe.
