USS Mount Whitney Leaves Burgas, Bulgaria

The U.S. 6th Fleet command and control ship USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20) departed Burgas, Bulgaria following a scheduled port visit, Oct. 27.

Mount Whitney’s visit to Bulgaria reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to strengthening ties with NATO allies, while working toward mutual goals of promoting peace and stability in the region.

Lt. Cmdr. Tammy S. Royal, Mount Whitney executive officer, said:

Our visit to Burgas provided a wonderful opportunity to further our personal and professional relationships with Bulgaria. Our partnerships matter, and we were thrilled to have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with our Bulgarian navy counterparts. The various engagements provided an opportunity to share best practices and grow familiarity with one another, which helps us all in the long run.
