The just-refurbished frigate HMNZS TE KAHA will be berthed alongside Queens Wharf, Wellington until Thursday 16 October, according to Royal New Zealand Navy’ social media.

TE KAHA will set sail on Thursday 16 October, 100 years to the day that 10 troopships and their escorts, including HMS PHILOMEL departed Wellington for Albany, Western Australia.

In Albany TE KAHA will take part in Australia’s 100th anniversary commemorations of the joint departure of the Australian Imperial and New Zealand Expeditionary Forces to Egypt on 31 October.

Next year TE KAHA will deploy to Gallipoli to be part of the commemorations for the centenary of the ANZAC landings at Gallipoli.

The ship will be open to visitors on Wednesday 15 October.
