The Navy ships are the first to return to San Francisco Fleet Week since 2012. Budget uncertainty caused by sequestration prevented the Navy from participating in 2013.

San Francisco Fleet Week 2014 (SFFW 14) is an opportunity for the American public to meet their Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard team and experience America’s sea services. More than 2,500 Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen are scheduled to take part in SFFW 14 to celebrate the rich history of America’s naval forces and the Bay Area. This engagement will highlight naval personnel, equipment, technology and capabilities with an emphasis on humanitarian assistance and disaster response (HA/DR).

Throughout the week, Sailors will have an opportunity to engage with the local community in a series of service projects and enjoy premier events including the return of the Blue Angels air show, parade of ships, and the commissioning of the Navy’s newest ship, America. The Navy Blue Angels are scheduled to perform at the air show on Oct. 11-12.

Additionally, San Francisco citizens will have opportunities to tour the ships and meet Sailors.

SFFW 14 will include a Senior Leadership Seminar (SLS) that focuses on Defense Support to Civil Authorities (DSCA).
