Australian Navy Ship Docks in India
HMAS DARWIN DOCKED IN KOCHI

The Royal Australian Navy’s ship, HMAS Darwin, arrived in Kochi, India on February 12th, 2014.

 

The ship was on route to Western Arabian Sea for operations when she made a stop at the port of Kochi, where the Indian Navy ship, INS Kalpeni, welcomed her.

The Indian and Australian navies will conduct professional exchanges, sporting encounters and social interactions during the visit.

HMAS Darwin departed Garden Island, Sydney on 19 January and headed for a seven-month deployment to the Middle East Area of Operations (MEAO).

She sailed to the MEAO to undertake maritime security and interception operations as part of the Operation Slipper.

The ship will be docked until 15th of February in Kochi, when she will continue her deployment to the operation.
