Sri Lanka Navy Commander Hosts US MARFORPAC
SRI LANKA NAVY COMMANDER

Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage, yesterday welcomed a team of the U.S. Marine Forces Pacific (MARFORPAC) at the Sri Lankan Naval Headquarters.

 

The goodwill visit team of four members included Defence Attache of the US Embassy in Sri Lanka, Lieutenant Colonel Patrick J. Schuler, Defence Cooperation Officer, Cmdr. Travis Sinniah, MARFORPAC South Asia Desk Officer, Major Robert Ibarra and its Branch Head, Mr. Larry Dyson.

The two parties talked about joint disaster and medical response and shared interests related to training.

The MARFORPAC is the largest field command in the Marine Corps of the United States. They are responsible for amphibious actions and typical Marine missions in the U.S. Pacific Command Area of Responsibility.
