French Warship FS Siroco Pays Visit to Mayotte
FRENCH WARSHIP FS SIROCO

EU Navfor flagship, FS Siroco, on January 1st 2014, visited the Port of Mayotte, which is located in the Indian Ocean.

This port is the only part of the EU located inside the Operation Atalanta’s Area of Operations.

FS Siroco is a French warship, which joined the European Union Naval Force Operation Atalanta on December 6th 2013. Before joining, Siroco’s crew conducted an intensive period of operational training.

She is a Foudre class Landing Ships Dock, 168 meters long with a displacement of 12,000 tones.

FS Siroco was opened for visit to local citizens.
