Iranian Navy Saves Oil Tanker from Pirate Attack
IRANIAN NAVY SHIP

An Iranian oil tanker was rescued from a pirate attack by the Iranian Navy this morning in the Gulf of Aden, trend.az writes.

Iranian Navy Commander, Admiral Siyavush Jarreh, reported that the country’s 28th fleet opened fire at 12 pirate boats and prevented them from hijacking the tanker.

This is not the first case the Iranian Navy reacted on time, since last year in October the Navy thwarted attacks on an Iranian merchant ship.

The Navy has been conducting patrols in the Gulf from November 2008, and it escorted over 1,500 ships last year.
