Roussian Navy's New Ship Launched

The Russian Navy’s new ship Yury Ivanov was launched by Severnaya Verf in St. Petersburg two days ago, according to RIA Novosti.

The ship is going to conduct sea trials and join the Northern Fleet.

The Yury Ivanov is a combination of an intelligence ship / communications vessel / training ship.

Main features of the ship are the following:

Displacement (est): 4000t
Dimensions: 311’6”x52’4”x13’1”
Machinery: Diesel-reduction: 4 Type 8CHN30/38
Max speed (est): 18kts
Complement (est): 120

The shipyard’s director, Alexander Ushakov, said that construction of another ship of this project would begin in November this year.
