USA: Raytheon, NAVSUP Ink Warning Receiver Supply Support Contract

Raytheon, NAVSUP Ink Warning Receiver Supply Support Contract

NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support recently awarded a Performance Based Logistics (PBL) contract to Raytheon Company based out of Goleta, Calif., for AN/ALR-67(V)3 Radar Warning Receiver supply support.

The four-year, firm fixed price contract is valued at just over $89 million and provides supply support and repairs of nine Weapons Replaceable Assemblies for the AN/ALR-67(V)3 Radar Warning Receiver used on the F/A-18 A/B/C/D/E/F aircraft. The PBL contract also includes Cooperative Logistics Supply Support Arrangement (CLSSA)/Repairable Item Replaceable Option (RIRO) support for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) and Canadian Forces F/A-18 aircraft.

The ALR-67(V)3 is an advanced radar warning receiver used on all front-line, carrier-based F/A-18 A-F tactical aircraft. It enhances survivability in today’s complex, high-density environment through improved situational awareness. Raytheon has been providing support for the ALR-67(V)3 Radar Warning Receiver system via PBL since September 1999 and has historically produced solid levels of material availability and reliability. The ALR-67(V)3 PBL contract renewal with Raytheon leverages the expertise and best practices gained over the past 12 years of PBL performance.

“2012 has been a year of PBL contract renewals at NAVSUP WSS. This demonstrates our commitment to renewing PBL contracts where the contractor’s performance improves material availability and aircraft readiness while delivering cost savings to the fleet,” said Capt. Chris Mosher, NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support director of Contracts.

“The ALR-67(V)3 PBL renewal contract with Raytheon is no exception. The renewed ALR-67(V)3 PBL contract will continue to support fleet readiness by maximizing logistics support while achieving a lower overall cost to the government and the best possible value to the taxpayer,” Mosher added.

A field activity of the Naval Supply Systems Command, NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support is the U.S. Navy’s supply chain manager providing worldwide support to the aviation, surface ship, and submarine communities.
