Danish MoD Chooses MH-60R Seahawk for Its Maritime Helicopter Fleet

Danish Ministry of Defence has chosen MH-60R Seahawk helicopters to replace its maritime helicopter fleet. The main contractors for the USD 686 million deal are Sikorsky (air vehicle) and Lockheed Martin (mission systems), the Ministry announced in a Decision from November 21.

Karup-based Royal Danish Air Force’s (RDAF’s) helicopter wing is expected to receive nine MH-60R helicopters from 2016 to 2018, thus replacing the service’s eight Lynx Mk.90B aircraft from 2017.

The MH-60R is designed to combine the features of the SH-60B and SH-60F. Its sensors include the ASE package, MTS-FLIR, an advanced airborne fleet data link, and more advanced airborne active sonar.
