INS Jalashwa Hosts Tri-Service (East) Annual Conference 2012

The Tri-Service (East) Annual Conference 2012 was held onboard INS Jalashwa, a Landing Platform Dock of the Eastern Naval Command on 09 Nov 12.

Vice Admiral Anil Chopra, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command hosted the Conference which has a great significance in joint operations. Lieutenant General Dalbir Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command and Air Marshal S Varthaman, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Air Command took part in the proceedings. The Commanders-in-Chief were assisted by their respective Staff Officers specialised in various disciplines of Military Operations. The three Commands have a pivotal role in defending the land, sea and air frontiers in the Eastern Region of the country.

The deliberations of the Tri-Service Conference focused on fine tuning and strengthening the trilateral cooperation and coordination in various operational activities, joint exercises and training matters. The Tri-Service Conference provided a platform for review of various operational and infra-structural facilities to ensure their optimum and joint utilisation. The Conference also envisaged closer interaction in the field of sports and cultural activities, familiarisation visits for enhancing troop-to-troop contact and to underscore the necessity of jointmanship in many other disciplines.
