Navy Assists in Repatriation of Sri Lankan Fishermen

Sri Lanka Navy assisted in the repatriation of 5 Sri Lankan fishermen along with a fishing boat on 16th July 2012. The boat named “Solamon-II” and the fishermen were taken over from the Indian Costal Guard Ship “Veera” at the International Maritime Boundary Line off Thalai-mannar by Sri Lanka Naval Vessels “Abeetha-II” and P 151 attached to the North-Central Naval Command.

Repatriation of Sri Lankan fishermen and the fishing boat comes as a direct result of the collaborative efforts made by the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Sri Lanka Navy and the Indian officials.
