Four Indian Warships to Deploy for Japan

 

With an aim of upgrading the level of security and stability in the area of the Indian Ocean, India decided to deploy four warships to Japan next week, Bernama informed.

The powerful fleet, led by Eastern Fleet commander Rear Admiral P.Ajit Kumar, membered by a frontline destroyer, a Shivalik-class frigate, a Kola class light missile frigate and a supply ship, will follow a route passing through the Strait of Malacca and heading to the South China Sea, and it will make stops in Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore.

The deployment in cooperation with regional and extra-regional maritime powers forms part of an attempt at easing tensions in the Sino-Indian region, caused by oil and gas exploration activities.
