In order to meet for underwater navigation capability requirements for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) the MCDSPO is procuring 34 Underwater Navigation and Integrated Sonar (UNIS) systems, which will allow the RAN to conduct mission planning, accurate navigation and automated hydrographical data recording with increased situational awareness, area coverage rate, diver safety and assist in area inspections, mapping and recording of objects

About Maritime Systems Division

Maritime Systems Division contributes to maritime capability development and definition of new major and minor investment proposals, the acquisition of the materiel elements of approved capability investments, their introduction into service and sustainment support, and their disposal when life-of-type has been reached. System Program Offices in the Division are the focal point for equipping and sustaining the Fleet so that it can fight and win at sea.
