Commander of Sri Lanka Navy Declares Open Newly Renovated General Mess

Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy Vice Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake declared open the newly renovated General Mess at SLNS Parakrama on 17th November 2011. Senior naval officers attached to Naval Headquarters and Commanding Officer SLNS Parakrama also present on the occasion.

The Navy has taken steps to improve the facilities of Senior and Junior Sailor Messes in all naval commands. They are air-conditioned and made more attractive in order to create a comfortable environment for naval personnel to have their meals and spend their leisure time in a more productive manner.
