India: Material Organisation Kochi Celebrates Diamond Jubilee

 

Material  Organisation  Kochi  (  MO  (K)  )  –  Navy’s  spares  inventory  depot- celebrated the 60th Anniversary of its inception today at the Naval Base. The celebrations were inaugurated by Vice Admiral KN Sushil, Flag Officer Commanding in Chief Southern Naval Command. Large number of serving and retired Navy officials attended  the celebrations.  

MO(K) was set up as Naval Store Depot on 24th September 1951 to provision spares for the ships and aircraft based at Kochi. From a nucleus staff of about 5 ministerial staff and 3 store keepers, today the MO(K) has on its roll 475 employees out of which significantly 415 are civilian employees. The Naval Depot stows and provisions about 2.68 lakh inventories for the warships and naval aircraft. Captain Sunil Bajaj, Materiel Superintendent presided over the celebrations.
